Welcome to our Roadside Free Drinking Water initiative—a refreshing oasis for weary travelers and commuters during scorching summer days. At Khuddam Welfare Society, we understand the importance of access to clean drinking water, especially in hot and humid climates. That’s why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to install earthen pots filled with RO water at several busy locations, providing a lifeline of hydration to those in need, completely free of charge.
Our Mission:
We are on a mission to ensure that no one goes thirsty, especially during the sweltering heat of summer. Through our Roadside Free Drinking Water initiative, we aim to alleviate the discomfort and health risks associated with dehydration by providing access to clean, safe drinking water to commuters, pedestrians, and anyone in need.
Key Features of Our Initiative:
Earthen Pot Installation:
We've strategically placed earthen pots filled with RO water at various busy locations where foot traffic is high and access to drinking water may be limited. there are 2 pots at each location, each pot containing 70 to 80 liters of water, serve as a reliable source of hydration for individuals on the go.
RO Water Quality:
We prioritize the health and well-being of our community members by ensuring that the water provided in our earthen pots is purified using advanced RO (Reverse Osmosis) technology. This guarantees that the water is free from impurities, contaminants, and harmful bacteria, meeting the highest standards of safety and quality.
Accessibility:
Our drinking water pots are conveniently located in easily accessible areas, making it convenient for commuters, travellers, and pedestrians to quench their thirst whenever needed. Whether you're rushing to catch a bus, running errands, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll, our pots are here to provide you with refreshing hydration along the way.
The Need:
At each of our locations, the daily consumption of water averages around 280 liters. To keep our pots filled, we rely on 20-liter RO water bottles, which cost us Rs. 20 each. Additionally, there’s a Rs. 8 charge for transportation and refilling services, bringing the total cost to Rs. 28 per bottle.
Here’s a breakdown of the daily operational costs at each location:
Daily Consumption:
Approximately 280 liters of water are consumed each day at each location.
Cost of Water Bottles:
Each 20-liter RO water bottle costs 20/-. With a daily consumption of 280 liters, this translates to 14 water bottles, totaling 280/-.
Transportation and Refilling:
It costs 8/- for transportation and refilling per water bottle. For 14 bottles, the total transportation cost amount to 112/-.
Total Cost
Each location, water cost with transportation is 392/- per day
